Days and Seasons

Our climate is influenced by our position on the earth and the angle at which we receive incoming sunlight (see the Sunshine page for more details!).  These are therefore two of the main factors affecting weather in any particular area.  However, they are not the only ones.  We must also consider differences caused by the time of day or the time of year. 
We are all aware that the weather changes from day to day, and also from season to season throughout the year.  But do you know why this happens? 
Let's look in more detail at some of these changes, starting with the seasons.
